Building peace can be an international effort, or it can be a very personal effort within one's family to reconcile past wrongs.

Peace Train had the honor of working with descendants of Thomas Jefferson and Sally Heming. Jefferson had children with one of his slaves, Sally Heming and it was only a few years ago that there was a coming-together of both sides of the family – the black , the whites, and everything in between.  The focus of this talk was on the experiences of race, particularly the history of black/white relations in the US, and the eventual reconciliation that this family is undergoing to realize their common ancestry, and ultimately humanity.

Our speakers joined by Skype. Cotton conducted the interview.

Photos from gatherings of the family accompanied the stories.

Questions taken by text chat, and communicated through Skype to the two speakers.

In Second Life.... color is a real asset!

Being blue can be beautiful!

Great to see so many people there.
